STRUCTURAL
SURVEY

Structural Survey

A knowledgeable purchaser may choose to have a structural survey carried out while satisfying himself of the condition of all other aspects of the vessel. Alternatively, an owner may have concerns regarding the structure of his vessel, either following a grounding or collision incident or in respect of the building quality of the vessel.

The structural survey will establish the condition of the hull and deck structure, and the attachment of all loaded equipment and fittings. It will therefore also usually include the keel, rudder, deck equipment and rig attachment points, windows and hatches and through hull fittings.
